Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Receiving Android Marshmallow Update in India

Samsung recently started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note 5 in India. Now, the South Korean company is said to have started rolling out the Marshmallow update to the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

Many Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ (SM-G928GZSA) users in India and France report (via Mobipicker) that they have started receiving the new update over-the-air (OTA). So far there has been no word from Samsung on the rollout of Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

According to user reports, the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is about 1.3GB in size.

Unfortunately, the changelog for the Marshmallow update is not available but we can expect the Galaxy S6 Edge+ to receive the same update as the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone. To recall, Samsung last month started seeding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge globally.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update brought enhanced edge screen and new edge features for the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone. After the update, users could widen the edge panel from 260 pixels to 550 pixels, enabling more content to be displayed and a shortcut to the settings menu was also included. The update introduced a Tasks edge panel that provided shortcuts to often used app features and tasks, like creating an event in S Planner, setting an alarm or composing a text message. A Quick tools panel also was introduced that included a ruler, compass, and customisable flashlight. Customising the Edge handle was also possible after the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
